David Ash Landscaping Contractors

With the summer more than halfway over and fall not that far off, you are probably savouring the time spent in your outdoor living space. Did you have plans to upgrade your outdoor space this summer but never got around to it? You’re probably thinking it’s too late now. After all, it won’t be long before you are going to be stuck inside. You couldn’t be more wrong! Late summer is the perfect time for outdoor living design updates and enjoying the space you’ve created.

Here at the Jersey Shore, we make most of our summers by spending as much time as possible in our backyards and gardens. Our outdoor spaces provide extended living, recreation and relaxation areas for friends and family. Cooking on the grill in the outdoor kitchen easier and day seem longer as the sunlight fades effortlessly into evening.

Extend the Outdoor Living Season

For years, once Labor Day came and went, people packed up their outdoor furniture put away the barbecue grill and closed up the pool. Today, this isn’t the case – or at least it doesn’t have to be. More and more homeowners are creating outdoor living spaces that they can use well into the fall.

Outdoor living design is becoming more popular and extending the living space of our homes., People are discovering just how much they enjoy their outdoor space. Here at the Jersey Shore outdoor living is a way of life, so why not make better by enjoying it as long as possible.

Add a Little Warmth

You may be wondering just how to make that happen. The simplest way to do this is to add a source of heat. Incorporating a fire pit, outdoor fireplace or chiminea to your outdoor living design is not only a great way to create some warmth but also makes a great centerpiece.

Find warmth beyond the firepit. Scatter some outdoor rugs on your hardscape. Rearrange your outdoor furniture to be closer or even encircle the fire pit and add soft throws and cozy pillows.

Outdoor lighting can create an ambience that is inviting and extend those gatherings late into the evening hours. All of these additions will make your outdoor space a warm haven in the early spring, as well. Family and friends can gather on cool evenings to roast marshmallows, look at the stars or just enjoy each other’s company.

Outdoor Living Design

While it’s true that the cooler months of fall and winter are slower for landscape designers, they work all year long. Remember spring and early summer are extremely busy for them. Everyone is in need of their services then for landscaping, hardscapes, planting and pool installation.

By late summer, the demand for their services will have eased up a bit, making it the perfect time to get to work on your outdoor living design. If you are just creating your outdoor space, you can start with the hardscape and decide just how much you want to accomplish before the truly cold weather sets in.

Late summer into fall is a great time to choose next year’s outdoor living projects and enlist your landscape designer’s services now before they are all booked up. Late summer is also a great time to do shopping for your outdoor space. You can find some great end of season sales on outdoor furniture, grills, and other outdoor living accessories. It never hurts to plan ahead!
